What to Expect



Great Fun!

Camp is brilliant! Campers will make new friends, have a laugh and create memories. We will ensure that everyone feels at home whether it is their first time on camp or they have been numerous times.

Every camp is unique but we follow a tried and tested programme, which includes games, activities, Bible teaching and discussions as well as free time.

Amazing Food!

Our Cook Abbie loves to make delicious food and there is always plenty of it. She is also an amazing baker so there are always sweet treats to enjoy. She caters for a range of dietary needs and would be happy to discuss this ahead of time to accommodate campers needs.

Good News!

All our team are Christians who love to tell campers about Jesus. Each day we will take time to look at the Bible and explore the Christian message.

Campers are encouraged to ask questions as they navigate this area of life.

Activities

We have a large range of activities some of which are below. The activities we run changes on each camp

Climbing Wall

Test your strength and climbing skills on our indoor traverse wall, with different routes for a range of abilities.

Archery

Can you hit gold with the help of our trained instructors? Whether you have shot an arrow before or are a first timer, we’ll give you the skills to hit the target every time.

Nightline

Working as a team, you and your friends will navigate a range of obstacles in the woods, whilst blindfolded.

Go-Karts

Enjoying peddling around our site. Take part in challenges which will test your speed, manoeuvrability and teamwork.

Adventure Trail

Set in woodland, our low ropes course is great fun, developing your balancing skills, strength and agility.

Warrior Run

Our Army style assault course is a fun workout and will build your stamina as you climb up, crawl through and scramble over obstacles.

Craft

A relaxed way to demonstrate your crafty skills as you make something to take home.

Golf

Take a stroll in the walled garden as you try to get a hole in one on our crazy golf course and putting green.

Just Dance

On our large screen we’ll show the dance moves of popular songs and you can dance under the disco lights as you learn the routine.

Camp Fire

A highlight of every camp as we sing songs, watch sketches and drink hot chocolate with marshmallows around a roaring fire.

Young Engineer

We’ll be looking for your design and build skills as you construct a range of objects using our large meccano style kit.

Water Slide

In the summer we love to get wet with water games and our slip and slide.

Whole Camp Games

You will love our ‘capture the flag’ style games which will pit your wits against other campers. The games are designed for those who are sporty, or those who can solve challenges and those who just want to have fun!

Beautiful Location

Set in 30 acres, Netherside Hall is the home of Yorkshire Camps. Nestled in the Yorkshire Dales National Park, the setting is stunning. There is plenty of space for campers to relax and play on the front lawn, where our swings, zip wire and basket swings are located.

Our activities are spread across the Estate including the Walled Garden and woodland. The bottom field is great for our whole camp games and football matches.

Bedrooms

What? No camping?!

As an all year round camp centre, we don’t actually camp, but enjoy proper bedrooms in dormitory style rooms. All bedrooms have access to a single-sex bathroom and shower room. Leaders sleep in the West Wing, which means you should enjoy a good night’s sleep while you are with us.
